Frequently asked questions

Which links work?

Links to a single public Pin: www.pinterest.com/pin/…, any country domain (pinterest.es, pinterest.com.br, …), and pin.it short links. Board pages, profile pages and search results do not work — open a specific Pin first.

Which image size should I download?

Cards are ordered small to large. “Largest available” is normally the original file as it was uploaded. If a Pin was only ever saved as a small image, that small size is genuinely the best that exists — the card labels show the real measured pixels.

Why do some video Pins say the video is unavailable?

On Pinterest itself these Pins are marked as videos but no longer play — the file was removed or moved. PinMosaic detects this directly and tells you instead of offering a broken download. The cover image can still be saved.

Do downloads include sound?

Yes. Video files are served exactly as Pinterest stores them. If the original has an audio track, the MP4 you download has it too — nothing is muted or re-encoded.

Do you store my links or files?

No. A Pin is read live when you paste the link, and the result is kept in memory for about 30 minutes so you can click the download buttons. Nothing is written to disk, and links are never shared or published.

Why do I need a new link after some time?

Download links are personal to your visit and expire after 15 minutes, and Pinterest file addresses themselves change. Fetching the Pin again takes a few seconds and always produces fresh links.

Can I download whole boards or many Pins at once?

No. PinMosaic works one Pin at a time, on purpose — bulk scraping is not something this tool supports.

The image I downloaded is a WEBP — is that wrong?

No. Some Pins are stored as WEBP on Pinterest, and the file is delivered in that original format rather than renamed to JPG. Modern browsers, phones and editors all open WEBP.
