Step by step
Where the file goes on iPhone
Safari saves downloads into the Files app, in a folder called Downloads. It does not go straight into Photos.
To get it into your camera roll: open Files, find the video under Downloads, then use Share → Save Video. It will then appear in Photos → Recents.
Where the file goes on Android
Chrome writes downloads into the Download folder, visible in the Files app or your Downloads app. Most gallery apps pick that folder up automatically, so the video often shows up in your gallery without any extra step.
If your gallery does not show it, open Files, find the MP4 and open it once — media scanners usually index it immediately after that.
Why the Pinterest app cannot do this itself
Pinterest does not offer a save-to-device button for other people's videos, and an in-app browser cannot hand a file to the operating system the way a real browser can. That is the only reason a step through your browser is needed.
You are not installing anything. There is no app and no browser extension; the whole job happens on one page in the browser you already have.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work on iPhone?
Yes. The download lands in the Files app under Downloads, not in Photos. Use Share → Save Video from Files to move it into your camera roll.
Do I need to install an app?
No. It runs in the phone browser and there is no extension or app to install.
Why did the download not start?
Usually because the page was opened inside the Pinterest app's built-in browser. Open your own browser, paste the link there and try again.
